Third Talk in Series by Dr Marco Romeo Pitone

This third talk “The Cutting (or-not) Edge of Witchcraft” is dedicated to swords, athames and other ritual blades within Gardnerian practice

Since 2011, the Doreen Valiente Foundation has been committed to protect, preserve, study and curate Doreen Valiente’s collection of magical artefacts. After the successful exhibition “Where Witchcraft Lives” displayed in 2016 at Preston Manor (Brighton and Hove Museums), our new Doreen Valiente Collection Series features a series of talks dedicated to different topics and categories of objects from our collection.

This third talk “The Cutting (or-not) Edge of Witchcraft” is dedicated to swords, athames and other ritual blades within Gardnerian practice, considering appropriate comparisons.

We will look at the unique importance of these artefacts at the very beginning of Wicca, when Gerlad Gardner’s passion for ancient ritual knives and the traditions carried from previous magical heritage, shaped the role of different types of ritual blades within Wiccan practice.

Every talk from this series is FREE of charge for our existing BENEFACTORS (click promo code and add your membership number), if you are not a benefactor yet this is the right time to join us! Purchase the Benefactor Ticket to join this event, and you will later receive your benefactor code for future events.
