The Rollright Ritual – Reinterpreted by Doreen Valiente

Since 2011, the Doreen Valiente Foundation has been committed to protect, preserve, study and curate Doreen Valiente’s collection of magical artefacts. After the successful exhibition “Where Witchcraft Lives” displayed in 2016 at Preston Manor (Brighton and Hove Museums), our new Doreen Valiente Collection Series features a series of talks dedicated to different topics and categories of objects from our collection.

After a long break, this fifth talk “The Rollright Ritual” is dedicated to a little notebook that was found among Doreen Valiente’s vast production of handwritten rituals. After further research, this appeared to be Doreen’s own interpretation of the famous Rollright Ritual published by the author William Gray in 1975.
